まだ早いんじゃ。。。

ものすごく久しぶりにポラ以外のカラー。

Mr. Saji

Still trying to get away from Flickr pics.

The picture below was taken with a digital camera. Today's picture was taken with a film camera and printed in darkroom.

Everytime I spend time in darkroom and see the pictures come out, I realize I'll never be entirely happy with digital photography. There is nothing wrong with it. It's just not the same as b/w film, and they don't have to be. I hope I can keep doing film photography for fun for life.

Saji is a lovely ojisan kitty at my friend's.

オトモダチのところのかわいいてっちゃん。ごろごろ。

おもちゃみたいなコンスーマ向けのデジカメで、ISO1600でこんな簡単に撮れちゃうからもういやになっちゃう。

Noir & Blanc

I was on the bus. I think it was before or after visiting Matt's flat with Oliv.

Love the everyday streets in Paris. I miss the rain there.

Return of the Pola

Got second SX-70 for cheap, and got some more films. I'm ready, impossible project. Bring it!

-- from flickr --
Is Pola coming back from dead? Will my SX-70 be able to eat more films? We'll see. For now, I scored some fresh films for the time being. ;) Hope I got enough.

Matt's lovely flat in Paris. I loved everything about that apt. :D

Dripping awesomeness

The title says it all. :) One of the best coffees in the city. Try one!

Charlie, yes, they have "Straight-up Latte" as well. ;)

I've been doing "no crop" rule to myself for quite a while. I think I'll make one exception to this rule: When 6x7 printed in darkroom. Because the aspect ratio of 6x7 is very close to the paper, it just feels so right to fill the paper. So I'm permitting myself to crop slightly to fit the picture to the paper. As part of my "ritual" on flickr, I'll keep the edges of the paper in the scan when I do this.

fun for everyone?

I don't want 6x7 to slow me down. Mamiya 7 works pretty good for walk-by hipshot too.

Aquarium isn't only for kids! We had good time there as well.

Back to some candid stuff, but with Medium Format this time. ;)

Way to spend a rainy morning

We finally got sunny sky this morning. Better make some coffee now.

Since the Paris trip, I've been drinking a lot more Espresso and less "american" coffee mainly because I always end up drinking way too much and often feel sick by the evening time (like i stop drinking because of that ;). So I figured "smaller portion, but many times a day" is better for me. Of course the definition of "better" isn't necessarily about healthiness, though. :p

But I'm also finding the taste of espresso in the US is often too intense, especially from those fancy coffee houses. I don't know if I like them all that much. I used to drink Americano for this reason, but then that defeats the purpose of drinking less. I don't need super intense bitterness, but a bit more concentrated "cafe" in smaller portion.

So far, the best solution is Nespresso pods at home.

BTW, I rescanned the prints with my usual CanoScan and updated most of Pris shots so far. HP all-in-one was just too bad. :p But I'm actually liking Print-then-Scan process. I don't get to see the picture until I print, and it's more fun that way. I just go to darkroom and make bunch of small prints super quick. If I like something a lot, I'll enlarge them bigger next time.
