They say less people read. I gotta say that paper form reading material is going away so quickly (although I still believe it's far away from the ultimate extinction).
I read an article saying that New York Times' total running cost will drop by HALF if they buy each of their subscribers a Kindle ($360 a pop) and stop publishing paper media. :O
Just found out the other day that Stacy's is closing for good. I stopped by on my way home today and picked up a couple of photo books. (London through a lens and mini book of André Kertész) They are offering 40% off for ALL books except periodicals and books already with deeper sales tag.
It's always sad to see local business fading out. Bookstores are experience extra tough time. They have to face both economy breakdown AND new technologies such as audio books and ebooks...
